Hosting

The site is hosted by Cloudflare Pages: Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, United States.

Content licence

Unless stated otherwise, the text and images of the site are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0): you may reuse and adapt them, commercially too, as long as you credit the author and link to the original page.

The source code of the site is under the MIT licence. Third-party logos, trademarks and content (videos, quotes) belong to their owners.

Personal data

The site has no account, no form and no cookie. It only collects the following.

  • Audience measurement: Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views without cookies or persistent identifiers (page, referring site, country, browser type). These statistics are aggregated. The script loads without an integrity check, as Cloudflare updates it at the same address (see under the hood).
  • Technical logs: Cloudflare processes visitors’ IP addresses to serve the pages and protect the site, under its privacy policy.
  • Preferences in your browser: the chosen theme (light, dark or automatic) and dismissing the language suggestion are saved in your browser’s local storage. They are never sent to the server; clearing the site data removes them.
  • Offline mode: a service worker keeps a copy of the pages you visited in your browser.
  • Videos: YouTube videos only load when you click them, from the youtube-nocookie.com domain. Google’s privacy policy then applies.
  • Mentions and replies: if you link to an article from your site (webmention) or reply to its post on Mastodon or Bluesky, your public name, the link and the text of your reply may be shown under the article.

Your rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation, you can ask to access, correct or delete the data about you (for instance a mention shown under an article) by writing to bonjour@sylvain.dev. If you are not satisfied with the answer, you can complain to the CNIL, the French data protection authority.
